"The Eternal Son of The Eternal Gives Life" | The Holy Trinity | June 15, 2025 | Pastor Iwen

Please note:  The beginning of sermon is missing in the recording.  If you would like, you can read the first part below.

====================

If you were to ask various people in your life the question, “Who is God?”, what kind of answers do you think you would get?  Would you get answers like "The Supreme Being," or "The Creator of all things"?

And while there is truth in these answers… they’re missing something, aren’t they?  If that’s all a person knows about God, they might not actually be talking about the True God.

I suppose some might even ask, “is there a right answer to this question?”  There is most definitely a right answer to this question. And Holy Trinity Sunday is a good time to talk about what that right answer is.  Who is God?  God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  As we confessed in the Athanasian Creed… “We worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity, neither confusing the persons nor dividing the substance.”[1]
